THE SHORT ANSWER

Who handles roadside assistance in the SOLO District towers?

Rescue Towing does. Most SOLO District calls come from inside the secured underground parking below the four towers, where a car that started fine last week now just clicks. We bring the boost pack, the lockout tools or the tire gear to your stall, confirm the price with you first, and if the fix does not hold we arrange a tow through our Brentwood roadside assistance team. You can send us the details at any hour.

SOLO District sits at the corner of Willingdon Ave and Lougheed Hwy, right beside Brentwood Town Centre SkyTrain station. Appia Developments built it as four towers: Stratus first, then Altus, Cirrus and Aerius, and the name is short for South of Lougheed. Altus, at 4485 Skyline Drive, has 48 levels with office floors below the homes, according to the Altus building profile. That mix of homes, offices and shops decides where your car is parked and how we reach it. For calls a little further along Lougheed, see roadside help at Gilmore Place.

When construction on Altus began it was described as Burnaby's tallest building, and the parking below the complex is planned on the same scale: 1,968 resident stalls, 445 retail stalls and 530 office stalls across the four towers. In a garage that size the level and stall number matter more than the street address. Most calls are simple: a battery drained after a week of taking SkyTrain instead of driving, interior lights left on, or a slow leak that finally went flat. If your car does need to leave on a truck, our light duty towing in SOLO District covers the everyday tow to a shop.

SOLO District roadside assistance at a glance

  • Tell us the tower name (Stratus, Altus, Cirrus or Aerius) and the address, since the complex spans Skyline Drive, Rosser Ave and Willingdon Ave.
  • The parking is secured, so a resident, the concierge or building staff needs to let us through the gate.
  • Give the level and stall number, and say whether you are in resident, retail or office parking.
  • EV owners: a flat 12-volt battery stops an electric car just like a gas car, and we can boost it. If it still will not wake up, a flatbed tow from SOLO District keeps the drive wheels off the ground.
  • The price is confirmed before any work starts. Ask for your price.

We fix it at the stall, or set up a tow if the car needs a mechanic.

SOLO District roadside assistance questions

Can you get a service vehicle into the SOLO District parkade?

Usually, once someone lets us past the secured gate. The parkade height is not something we can look up in advance, so we size the vehicle to the job and ask you about the ramp. If a work van stalls on the street outside the office floors, heavy duty towing in SOLO District is the page for larger vehicles.

Do you help with a Modo car in the building?

The building has three dedicated Modo vehicles. For a car-share car, contact the car-share company first, since they decide who works on their fleet. For your own car parked beside it, we help as normal.

My car died on Lougheed Hwy outside the towers. Is that still roadside?

Yes. Pull as far right as you safely can, turn on your hazards and stay away from the traffic side. Tell us which way you were heading. If it needs a tow, the Brentwood towing services page explains the options.

Is the price fixed before you come?

Yes. We confirm it before any work starts. The tow truck cost guide explains what changes it.

When should I stop trying to start it and call?

If the car clicks but will not crank, or a warning light stays on after a restart, stop. Our note on what to do when your car breaks down in Brentwood walks you through it.
