What makes wheel lift towing in the SOLO District different?
SOLO stands for South of Lougheed. Appia Developments built four towers on 6.65 acres at the corner of Willingdon and Lougheed, beside Brentwood Town Centre station: Stratus, Altus, Cirrus and Aerius. Altus, at 4485 Skyline Drive, rises 48 levels, and the Altus building profile lists a plan of 1,968 resident, 445 retail and 530 office stalls under the four towers. That is a lot of cars behind gates, and it is why most of our Brentwood wheel lift calls here start with a question about access.
The garages are secured, so someone has to let the truck in or meet us at the gate. Entrance spots and clearance are not published, so we ask you to read the sign as you go in. A wheel lift helps down there because it does not need room behind the car to tilt a deck. When a car is parked by a car-wash bay or an EV charger, the driver lifts it from the open end and rolls out. If it is only a dead battery, SOLO District roadside assistance may be all you need.
Above ground, Burnaby's first Whole Foods Market and more than 100,000 sq ft of retail bring steady traffic to Skyline Drive and Rosser Ave. A Daily Hive story on Altus placed the project right at the station corner, and that corner is busy all day. We load at the curb only where it is legal and quick. Cars that need all four wheels off the ground go on a SOLO District flatbed.
SOLO District wheel lift towing at a glance
- Four towers, Stratus, Altus, Cirrus and Aerius, sit over secured underground parking.
- Bring your fob or meet us at the gate so the truck can get in.
- Read the clearance sign at the garage entrance and send it with your request.
- Front-wheel-drive cars ride on the wheel lift, AWD gets dollies, and most EVs go on a flatbed.
- The three Modo car-share vehicles belong to Modo, so a breakdown in one goes to them.
- Prices are confirmed before anyone touches the car. Ask for a price.
Wheel lift or dollies in the SOLO District garages?
The garages under SOLO hold everything from compact hatchbacks to large AWD SUVs, so the setup changes from call to call.
Wheel lift on its own
- A front-wheel-drive car in a resident stall
- A rear-wheel-drive car with its rear end facing the aisle
- A short tow from Skyline Drive to a nearby shop
- A car with a flat on the end we lift
- A car near the Whole Foods entrance that needs a quick lift and a short drive
Dollies or a flatbed
- AWD crossovers, with dollies under the wheels left on the ground
- EVs from the charging stations, usually on a flatbed
- Cars stuck in park with no key
- Low sports cars that would scrape at the top of a garage ramp
- Bigger vans from the retail loading area, handled by heavy duty towing in the SOLO District
How a SOLO District wheel lift tow gets done
A garage tow in a secured tower needs a few things lined up before the truck rolls in.
- 01
Name the tower and level
Tell us Altus, Stratus, Cirrus or Aerius, plus the level and the stall number. - 02
Sort the access
Let building staff know, or plan to meet us at the gate with your fob. - 03
Get the price
We confirm the price before the truck comes in. - 04
Hook from the open end
The arm reaches under the tires. If the drive wheels face a wall, dollies go under them first. - 05
Out to the street
The car leaves on the wheel lift and heads to your shop. For everyday car trips, see light duty towing in the SOLO District.
SOLO District wheel lift towing FAQ
Can a wheel lift truck fit in a SOLO District garage?
Often, but we check first. Clearance is posted at each entrance, and we compare it with the truck before going in.
My car is backed into the stall. Does that matter?
It decides which end we can reach. A front-wheel-drive car parked nose-out is easy. If the drive wheels are against the wall, we use dollies.
Do you tow from the retail and office parking too?
Yes, from retail and office stalls as well as resident levels. Tell us which section you are in.
What sets the price?
Access, distance and whether dollies are needed. We confirm it before hookup. See what affects tow prices.
Can you tow a car from a car-wash bay?
Yes. Car-wash bays usually have open floor around them, which makes the hookup easy. Tell us which tower's bay you are in.
Should I push the car out to Skyline Drive first?
No. Do not try to move a broken car up a ramp. We come down to it once access is sorted.
