Who needs heavy duty towing at Gilmore Place?
Gilmore Place is Onni Group's 12-acre master-planned block around Gilmore SkyTrain station, at 4180-4190 Lougheed Hwy and 2108-2186 Gilmore Ave. Phase 1 has three towers of 64, 51 and 43 storeys, and RENX reported that Phase 2 was still to be built as of July 2024. More towers mean more cement mixers, dump trucks and material deliveries on the Gilmore Ave side for years. Our heavy duty towing for all of Brentwood covers the site and its approaches.
The retail podium adds a second stream of trucks. It is anchored by a 55,000 sq ft T&T Supermarket within about 180,000 sq ft of retail over three levels, so grocery and store deliveries are routine. Then there are the buses: routes 28, 129 and N9 serve the station. A bus or delivery truck that stalls near it blocks a busy corner, so we plan the setup before we arrive. Across Lougheed, Buchanan West sees many of the same trucks.
The 2018 plan put about 1,800 parking spaces under Phase 1 and made the streets through the site pedestrian-only. Neither is a place for a heavy wrecker, so we work from Gilmore Ave, Dawson St and Lougheed Hwy. Cars stuck below ground are better handled by flatbed towing at Gilmore Place.
How we run a heavy duty tow at Gilmore Place
Gilmore Place is part construction site, part transit hub. This is our order of work there.
- 01
Pin the location
Gilmore Ave, Dawson St, Lougheed Hwy, or a construction gate. The station entrance at Gilmore and Dawson is a useful reference. - 02
Check the load
A loaded concrete or dump truck can weigh far more than an empty one. Tell us what is on board. - 03
Coordinate with the site
If the truck is inside a construction fence, we need the site contact to open the gate and clear the area. - 04
Mind the clock
Oversize tows can't run in Burnaby from 7 to 9 am or 3 to 6 pm on weekdays, so we time the move outside those hours when needed. - 05
Tow and confirm
Price confirmed first, then the hookup, then delivery to your yard or shop.

Gilmore Place heavy duty towing: construction side or retail side?
The two halves of Gilmore Place bring different problems for a heavy tow.
Construction side
- Phase 2 towers and a commercial podium still to be built
- Heavy trucks on unpaved or temporary surfaces
- Site gates and fences to work around
- A site contact needed before we go in
Retail and transit side
- T&T and other stores drawing delivery trucks
- The single station entrance at Gilmore Ave and Dawson St
- Buses on routes 28, 129 and N9
- Pedestrian-only streets inside, so the tow happens at the edge
Gilmore Place heavy duty towing questions
Can you tow a bus that broke down by Gilmore station?
Yes, a bus needs a heavy underlift tow. The Gilmore station entrance is at the northeast corner of Gilmore Ave and Dawson St, so tell us which side of the street the bus is on.
Do you work on construction sites?
Yes, with the site's permission. We need a contact who can open the gate and confirm where the truck can be pulled out.
Can I leave a heavy truck on Gilmore Ave overnight?
Burnaby does not allow vehicles over 3,600 kg to park overnight on city streets, so plan to have it towed the same day or night.
Is Two Gilmore Place a landmark I can give you?
Yes. At 64 storeys and 216 m it is the tallest tower in Metro Vancouver, so it is easy to spot. Still, give us the street and nearest corner so we reach the truck directly.
What if it's just a dead battery?
Try roadside assistance at Gilmore Place before a tow.
