Which Gilmore Place cars need a flatbed tow?
Gilmore Place is Onni's 12-acre block at 4180-4190 Lougheed Hwy and 2108-2186 Gilmore Ave. This is how we match the tow to the car.
How do we reach cars for flatbed towing at Gilmore Place?
Phase 1 of Gilmore Place has three towers of 64, 51 and 43 storeys, and Two Gilmore Place is the tallest tower in Metro Vancouver. The 2018 plan called for about 1,800 parking spaces in Phase 1 and pedestrian-only streets through the site. Those car-free streets mean a deck truck cannot pull up to a lobby, so we load from Gilmore Ave or Lougheed Hwy. This page is part of our Brentwood flatbed towing coverage.
The single entrance to Gilmore station is at the northeast corner of Gilmore Ave and Dawson St, and buses 28, 129 and N9 stop there. It is a busy corner on foot, so we choose a loading spot that keeps the deck clear of riders. If your car only has a dead battery, roadside assistance at Gilmore Place may sort it out without a tow.
The block is not finished. RENX reported that Phase 2, with three more towers and a commercial podium, was still to be built as of July 2024, and the T&T Supermarket anchor was planned for spring 2025. Expect fencing and shifting lanes around the site. Across Lougheed to the north, flatbed towing in Buchanan West covers the big-box lots.
Why the deck and not a hook for these towers? Gilmore Place is new, so the cars parked under it are new too, and a lot of them are electric or all-wheel drive. Towing either one with two wheels turning can damage the motor or the drivetrain, and a repair like that costs far more than the tow. Loading flat removes that risk. Once the car is strapped down, we can take it to a dealer, a shop or home, and our contact page is the quickest way to send us the tower and level.
Lougheed Hwy along the north edge of the block is busy most of the day, and buses run along Gilmore Ave to the station. When a car breaks down at the curb rather than in the parkade, we set up with lights on and load it as quickly as we safely can. If it was in a crash, take photos first and keep clear of traffic. Our breakdown checklist for Brentwood covers what to do while you wait.

What do Gilmore Place drivers ask about flatbed towing?
Can you load right at the station entrance?
Not at the doors. The corner of Gilmore and Dawson is busy with riders, so we pick a nearby curb that is safe for everyone.
Can you tow from the retail parking under the shops?
Yes. Retail levels work like the residential ones. Tell us the level and how we get in.
My EV is still plugged in. Should I unplug it?
If it is safe, unplug it and set tow mode. If the car will not respond at all, leave it and we will handle it.
How long will the tow take?
It depends on Lougheed traffic and how deep the car is parked. Our tow timing guide explains what changes it.
